With just the right sized, square backyard on a dramatic and un-useable slope, it was no wonder this family of four were looking to achieve a transformation that would see the space become part of the house, a space they could use day and night all year round. The pool infinity edge worked in as part of the retaining walls and helped to stabilise the earthworks and tier the garden, raising it up to a useable level, while still maximising all the corners available.

It was important to create a backyard that could grow with the kids and serve the family now and into the future. Thus, providing the client with multiple grassed areas and transplanting the existing Frangipani tree helped to make the garden feel as though it was meant to be. The large timber amphitheatre steps leading into the pool area bring the indoors out while still providing seating, day bed and storage options.
