This design demonstrates just how much you can fit into a sloped suburban block. With the clients enjoying gardening as a therapeutic form of relaxation and escape from everyday stressors, and their children growing up, it was important to create several sensory pockets of appeal to everyone by tiering the landscape.

This design seamlessly blends the old with the new, all while still allowing each space to exist on its own merits. There’s an exposed green-house big enough to grow countless herbs, fruits and vegetables; a raised dining space cocooned by chunky timber posts to evoke a sense of shelter and protection under the night sky; and a sunken fire pit overlooking the city skyline encouraging all to linger longer and appreciate the tranquillity of this space juxtaposed against the frenetic pace of Brisbane city.
